the bee's knees
I’m dipped in love that drips down my body like the nectar of the bees
knees
first bite
of electric eclectic fare
it’s not fair you’re so fair
vibrating into a disarray of clouds and sunshine hues
and blues that shade your eyelids and color your shades -
a virtuoso sketch of graphite
strokes of flight so pure you flow through my Brita like silk
with sweat that speckles your breath like a robin’s egg
your skin a fragile shell between my fragile fingers
and i have you in the incandescent grooves of my indestructible fingerprint
i linger
in the absence of your breath that lays on my shoulder
somewhere between a sigh and the faint brush of my hand on your thigh
a barely-there wisp that falls on its side and curls up with its back to the door
i just want you to love me love me like you’ve never loved another fragment of this chaotic cosmos
and i will give you the intangibly soft underpinnings of the inside of my wrist
for as long as you should know me and a day.
